Dish It Out

Rate the dish, not the restaurant.

You don't love a restaurant. You love the short rib at that one place. Dish It Out keeps notes on the dish itself, so next time you order the right thing.

TestFlight beta

Free, and open to anyone. You need Apple’s TestFlight app installed first.

What it does

Per dish, not per place

Every note hangs off a dish. Three verdicts sit on top of it — yours, your friends', and everyone's.

No account, just a name

Pick a username and you are in. Nothing to sign up for, no password to lose.

Scan the menu

Photograph a menu and the whole thing becomes a dish list, prices and sections included, in about ten seconds.

Friends, not followers

Add a friend by username. They accept, and from then on you see what they thought before you order.

Rate it again next time

Loved it in June, not in October? Write a second note. Both stand.

For You

Recommendations built from the dishes you already rated, not from a popularity chart.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No. You pick a username and the app remembers you on that device. There is no password and no email.

Who can see my notes?

Everyone can, and that is on purpose. You choose what you read, not what you share — every dish screen toggles between Friends and Everyone.

Where do the restaurants come from?

Apple Maps. Start typing and pick the place; the address and location come along with it.

Can I rate the same dish twice?

Yes. Order it again, write a new note. Averages count your most recent one.
